REGISTRATION
Packet
pickup - All Events will be at the Lakeview Arena (in
Marquette) Friday, August 10, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30
p.m.
Race
day pickup - Soft Rock will be at Lakeview School in Negaunee
from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Race
day pickup - Hard Rock wil be at the Negaunee Senior Center
from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Race
day pickup - Jr. Rock will be at the Lakeview Arena (in
Marquette) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
RACE
DAY REGISTRATION
No race day registrations (except Little/Littlest Rocks) are
permitted. Packet pickup from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
KIDS'
EVENTS REGISTRATION
Junior, Little, and Littlest Rocks may register Friday Evening.
Little & Littlest Rocks may also register starting at
1:30p.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Arena on
Saturday. There is no race day registration for Hard, Soft,
and Junior Rocks.
REGISTRATION CHANGES
A change of event request must be submitted and received
in writing by August 7th. Mail your request to Ore to Shore,
P.O. Box 864, Marquette, MI 49855 or email to
info@oretoshore.com. No phone calls or faxes please. No
changes will be allowed after this date. Transferring of numbers
will not be permitted.

SPONSOR
EXPO Epic sponsors and other vendors will have booths
set up in the Lakeview Arena starting on Friday night during
registration and continuing on race day. Pay them a visit
and check out the latest gear as well as other items of interest.
PREFERRED
STARTS
A limited number of preferred start positions available
in both the HARD and SOFT ROCK events. Please be sure to check
the box on the entry form. Ore To Shore past results will
be used as a guideline. If you have never raced in the ore
to shore, submission of a brief race resume is required.
AGE
GROUPS
11 and under (soft rock only), 12-15 (soft rock only),
16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,
60-64, 65-69, 70+
FIELD LIMIT
Field limit of 2500. Transferring
of numbers will not be permitted. Bandits (non registered
riders) are strictly prohibited.
MEMORABILIA
This year we are offering your choice of a
T-shirt or a pair of quality bike socks embroidered with the
race logo as part of your entry fee. Please indicate your
choice of socks or shirt, and your desired size on entry form.
*Please
note that shirts and socks are distributed on a first come,
first serve basis. Marking your size on the entry form helps
the Ore to Shore Committee determine what sizes to order.
The Ore to Shore cannot guarentee that you will receive the
exact size that was marked on your entry form.

AID
STATIONS Aid stations will be available on both the HARD
ROCK and SOFT ROCK courses. Natural Spring Water direct from
Michigan's Upper Peninsula, courtesy of Amino Vital, and
fruit will be available as will Clif Bar Gel at most stations.
CUT-OFF
TIME As a courtesy to the many volunteers, riders failing
to make it to Forestville Road (approx. 38 miles into HARD
ROCK; approx. 18 miles into SOFT ROCK) prior to 3:30 p.m.
will be guided off of the course and taken to the finish area
by support vehicle.
DROP
OUTS If you should decide to drop out of the race, go
to the nearest aid station and inform a race official of your
decision. Support vehicles will be available for a ride from
the aid station to the finish area.
HELMETS Use of an approved helmet is required in all
of the applicable Epic Weekend events.
FIRST
AID First aid will be available at all of the aid stations
and at the finish line as well as roaming medical personnel
along the course.
AWARDS
CEREMONY Cash and awards ceremony will be at 6:30 PM. Location to be announced. Thousands of dollars in merchandise
will be given away by random drawings courtesy of our sponsors
(must be present to win). Unique commemorative awards will
be given to the top 3 finishers in each class in the Hard,
Soft and Junior Rock races.
PARKING
Plenty of parking is available around both start areas and
the finish area.
TRANSPORTATION
There is plenty of parking at both start areas and finish
area. Buses will be available for personal transport (no bikes
allowed) from the finish to the start areas from 11 a.m. -
5 p.m. (on the 1/2 hour).
CLOTHING
DROP BAGS Riders
will be given a numbered clothing drop bag. Riders may place
personal articles needed at the finish area in these bags.
Drop bags left at the start in the designated bag area will
be transported to the finish at Lakeview Arena. The drop bags
will be secured to the best of our ability, but we cannot
be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
TECHNICAL
ASSISTANCE Local bike shops will be on hand to help out
with any necessary mechanical repairs at the start areas of
both races. Please carry your own tools and supplies for emergency
repairs on the course.
BIKE
WASH & STORAGE Hoses will be available outside Lakeview
Arena for washing bikes. A bike storage area will be provided
while riders are socializing at the arena and/or returning
to the start to pick up vehicles. Bikes will be secured to
the best of our ability, but we cannot be responsible for
lost or stolen bicycles. The bike corral will close at 4 p.m.
Please pick up your bike prior to that time.
SHOWERS
Showers are available at Lakeview Arena free of charge. Please
provide your own soap and towels.
RESULTS
All timing will be completed by White River Sports from Iron
River, Wisconsin. Results will be posted at the arena as soon
as they become available. Any errors should be reported to
the timers immediately. Results can also be accessed on our
website at www.oretoshore.com. Results will also be in Sunday's
Marquette Mining Journal.
