Welcome to the official Marquette General Health System Ore To Shore Mountain Bike Epic Website! Michigan's Largest Mass Start Point-to-Point Race!

The Marquette General Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic, August 8, 2009, is race number six of the Golden Race Series. At each of seven Golden Bike Series cross country mountain bike races, GT will crown the fastest amateur as the Golden Bike Winner. But there’s a catch: the winner must defend their title by racing the GT Golden Bike at the next event in the series – or they forfeit the prize package worth more than $10,000 to the 2nd place finisher.

Mark your calendars for the 10th annual Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic scheduled for August 8th 2009!

The Race Committee would like to thank the 2400+ bikers who took part in the 9th Annual Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Junior Rock, Little Rock and Littlest Rock. You were fabulous riders who helped others on the course, were courteous to the volunteers, and provided great feedback for next year's event. It is exciting for us to watch the day unfold after months of preparation.

Andy Gregg and the crew from MQTphoto wll be on the race course again in 2009, where they will be taking action photos of all racers! These photos will be available to view and/or for purchase in the days following the race by visiting www.marquettephoto.com

The Ore to Shore race course is made up of a combination of public and private land. We have a one day permit to go through the landowner's property for the race. It has come to our attention that a GPS version of the course may be found on the internet. There are sections of the course than can be ridden year round - the easiest to find is from County Road 510 into Marquette. Please do not ride the private landowner property other than on race day . Doing so could put the race in jeopardy as the landowners may not let us use their property anymore.
